Saul Carliner, e-Learning Fellow, Concordia University

The keynote speaker, Saul Carliner, is an e-Learning Fellow and an Associate Professor at Concordia University in Montreal. His research and teaching focus on the design of content for the workplace, the management of groups that produce this content, and the transfer of research to practice.
Prof. Carliner has received research funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, Hong Kong University Grants Council, Canadian Council on Learning, and Society for Technical Communication.
Among his publications are the award-winning articles, “Physical, Cognitive and Affective: A Three-Part Model for Information Design” and “Modeling Information for Three-Dimensional Space: Lessons Learned from Museum Exhibit Design”; the best-selling book, Training Design Basics, and the classic text, Techniques for Technical Communicators (with Carol Barnum).
Saul is editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, a board member of Agence Ometz (a social service agency), a founding board member of the STC Certification Commission, past board member of the Canadian Society for Training and Development, and a fellow and past international president of the Society for Technical Communication.
