<\/a><\/p>\nChristina Mayr is an Information Architect and manager of the IT Documentation Team at Epic Games. Much more than a technical writer, Christina has spent the last 10 years mentoring, teaching, and sharing her knowledge with others.<\/p>\n
Since graduating from East Carolina University with a Master\u2019s in Technical and Professional Communication, Christina has worked as a technical writer, editor, or information architect in the pharmaceutical, state government, manufacturing, and hardware and software industries. Whatever her title, Christina always aimed to simplify complex information and provide it when, where, and how users needed it.<\/p>\n
Christina\u2019s portfolio includes internal and end-user documentation, UI design, persona development, style guide creation, requirements documentation, corporate communications, marketing and PR collateral, and business process improvement.<\/p>\n
An instructor with the Duke Technical Communication program, Christina has created courses and given dozens of presentations and workshops on various popular authoring tools, job searching, resume writing, information architecture, portfolio development, and starting out as a technical writer.<\/p>\n
Christina has been a leader in the Carolina Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication since 2008 while also serving as a mentor, frequent presenter, Competitions Manager, blog writer, and self-proclaimed Chapter Ambassador. As President, Christina was heavily involved with overhaul of the chapter\u2019s website, improving the corporate sponsorship program, and improving collaboration with the NCSU and ECU technical writing programs. Christina is now on the national STC Nominating Committee, whose purview is to identify promising future STC leaders.<\/p>\n
When she\u2019s not working or volunteering, you can find Christina reviewing resumes, learning something new, chasing her two littles somewhere outdoors, or attempting to organize her closet, again.<\/p>\n

She is currently teaching a graduate class on the Theory and Practice of Editing. Her research combines her technological background, computational skills, and her ability to address knowledge gaps in the fields of technical communication pedagogy and practice, and focuses on audience analysis, data analytics, user experience, and information design.<\/p>\n Nupoor entered the field of technical writing in 2013 when she started working as a technical writer at Tibco in Pune, India. Following that she earned her Masters and Ph.D. degrees in technical communication at NC State University. These programs prepared her well for an industry as well as for an academic career. While pursuing these degrees she also worked at several organizations such as Palo Alto networks in California, Citrix in Florida, and SAS Institute in North Carolina in various positions. With one foot in the industry and another in academia, Nupoor\u2019s goal is to bridge the gaps between the two through pedagogy and practice.<\/p>\n Nupoor\u2019s research has won multiple awards and is published in journals including but not limited to Technical Communication, Communication Design Quarterly, Kairos, and IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication. Nupoor\u2019s role in professional organizations including Society of Technical Communication (STC), SIGDOC, Write the Docs, and Association of Business Communication (ABC) help her become part of, and contribute to the technical communication community.<\/p>\n She loves to cook, travel, thrift-shop, play tennis and go on long walks. Sarah was 26 when she founded Reify, and she continues to be the sole owner of the self-funded, 10-year-old company. Reify Media serves major university, corporate, and nonprofit clients across the country, helping organizations educate and promote through digital media projects backed by sound instructional design principles.<\/p>\n An expert in technical communication, Sarah is known for translating complicated technical trends into authentic discussions for all skill levels. She speaks about technology trends, Smart City innovations, instructional technology, women in entrepreneurship, and more. She has facilitated training sessions from California to Qatar, with highlights like Connected World Summit in London, Smart Cities Connect in National Harbor, Select USA Summit in Washington DC, IoT Evolution in Florida, and many more. Her trademark skill is bringing tech trends and innovations to life with powerful and engaging storytelling.<\/p>\n Sarah is passionate about supporting women- and entrepreneur-focused organizations like the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO); she was the youngest President to lead NAWBO Greater Raleigh in the chapter\u2019s 40-year history when she served from 2017-2018. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Innovate Raleigh, an organization dedicated to making Raleigh one of the top five centers for innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, and is a founding Board Member for the North Carolina Women Business Owners Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n Sarah lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband and their two sons.
