We ​are ​pleased ​to ​announce ​that ​registration for the ​SIGDOC ​2018 ​Conference ​is now open! SIGDOC 2018 will ​be ​held ​at ​the ​Milwaukee ​School ​of ​Engineering, ​August ​3-5, ​2018! This ​year’s ​conference ​features ​exceptional ​speakers ​and ​scholars, ​including ​keynotes ​by ​this ​year's ​Diana ​award ​winner, ​the ​Center ​for ​Civic ​Design, ​and ​Ken ​Cook, ​the ​President ​of ​Ken ​Cook ​Co. ​and ​a ​recently ​named ​STC ​"legend ​of ​Technical ​Communication." ​Also ​featured ​will ​be ​a ​full ​slate ​of ​panels, ​workshops, ​the ​SIGDOC ​Research ​Network, ​ignite ​talks, ​and ​the ​Microsoft ​Student ​Research ​Competition. 2018 Diana Award Winner Announced

Congratulations to our 2018 Diana Award Winner: The Center for Civic Design! "Our mission is summed up in our slogan, democracy is a design problem, and the opening words of our site: Ensuring voter intent through design. Our goal is to make every interaction between government and citizens easy, effective, and pleasant. We bring civic design skills in research, usability, design, accessibility, and plain language to improve the voting experience, make elections easier to administer, and encourage participation in elections. The executive board of SIGDOC is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Diana Award. The award is given to an organization, institution, or business for their long-term contribution to the field of communication design. ​To see previous award winners, please visit:​ ​To nominate an organization for the award, please send the name of the organization and a paragraph contextualizing the nomination to: Please submit all nominations for this first round of consideration by November 7, 2017. The winner will be announced at the 2018 SIGDOC conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, August 3-5, 2018. A representative from the organization will be asked to give a keynote address, workshop, or participate in some other capacity at the conference​.
