MacDonald Bridge Closure

HIAA has completed a review of the MacDonald Bridge Closure for the “Big Lift” project and its impact.

Airport car service license holders will be required to take an alternate route to service customers travelling to Zone 14 – Halifax (from North Street to South Peninsula) when the MacDonald Bridge is closed for the “Big Lift.”

HIAA’s research shows that to most destinations in Zone 14 – Halifax (from North Street to South Peninsula) it is a further distance when the MacKay Bridge is utilized.  On that basis, airport car service licence holders may add an additional $5.00 to the current fare ($63.00), outlined in the Local Airport Car Services Fare Schedule; for destinations in Zone 14 – Halifax (from North Street to South Peninsula), only when the MacDonald Bridge is closed for the “Big Lift”.  The total fare to be no more than $68.00 (includes HST).

When the MacDonald Bridge is open, the established fare for Zone 14 – Halifax applies – $63.00.
